Canine and Feline Obesity

Some risk factors cannot be altered, but some risk factors CAN be managed.
Animal Clinic & Hospital is now offering nutritional counseling to help you maximize your pet's health and longevity through weight management.

Obesity in our dogs and cats is defined as a pet that weighs more than 15% of his/her optimal weight. Estimates range obesity from 25 - 50% of our pet population, and some estimate higher. Unfavorable health issues can begin when your pet reaches 10 to 15% over optimal weight.
